Technology that other vendors couldn’t supply was developed by EAM. Here’s what we did to provide the solution…
Magnets are used in countless modern “stirring” applications where contamination is a concern. The ability to create movement without any physical contacts – using only a magnetic field to couple the stirrer to the motor – guarantees the most sterile environment possible.
The Problem: A company that specializes in food-serving equipment wanted to create stirring mechanism for food products. The stirrer had to be able to remain completely sterile, move freely and with as little friction as possible, and be NSF compliant.
The Solution: EAM first designed a multi-pole ceramic ring magnet that would be cost effective, however also provide enough coupling strength to drive the stirrer through the various food products. The magnet was then over-molded with a Teflon casing that must be hermetically sealed to prevent any kind of contamination or potential bacterial growth. In order to achieve the least amount of friction possible, EAM then ultrasonically welds Teflon end-cap to both sides of the stirrer, ensuring the least amount of friction possible during the stirring motion.
